Oncology is the field of medicine which deals with the diagnosis, staging and treatment of cancer. Our doctors evaluate each individual and determine through up-to-date clinical practice guidelines the appropriate
treatment. They oversee the VCMC Infusion Center which is staffed with specialized Oncology nurses and pharmacists. The VCMC Infusion Center provides all necessary chemotherapeutic agents needed for the successful treatment of a wide range of carcinomas. Hematology services include evaluation of disorders of the blood cells. There are many disorders, such as, iron deficiency anemia, hemolytic anemia, hemochromatosis, autoimmune thrombocytopenia, and coagulation disorders.
