
Pulmonary Medicine
Dr. Bennett Lipper grew up in New York City. After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Lipper was accepted into the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Upon being awarded his M.D. degree,
Dr. Lipper returned to New York where he completed his internal medicine residency at Bellevue Hospital. He pursued his interest in lung disease by applying for and being accepted into the pulmonary medicine fellowship at Bellevue Hospital. He did additional fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Lipperis a gifted clinician and was asked to join the faculty of Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. He was an attending physician at Jacoby Hospital in the Bronx and performed clinical research. He published an important paper demonstrating the risk of aspiration during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. After seven years on the Albert Einstein faculty, Dr. Lipper and his family moved to California to be closer to his wife’s family.
Dr. Lipper had a successful private practice prior to joining Oceanview Medical Specialists. He now treats patients at Ventura County Medical Center and in the County’s Ambulatory Care Clinics. He enjoys this clinical setting and enjoys caring for his patients. Dr. Lipper values the continuity of care that he is able to establish with his patients and helping them through the ups and downs of their medical illnesses.
